Sunrise Branding
Inspiration
I spent a great deal of time at the start of this project rounding up and studying the logos of major startups and tech companies, with a special focus on companies that created hardware, social media, retail, or with relevant color schemes.

Evokes the rays of the sun spreading out over the horizon.
The design process
Designing a logo is a process that requires a free flow of ideas. I fired off dozens and dozens of concepts in my sketchbook and on stacks of logo templates I created and printed, then digitized them and honed the best ideas.
Alternate logo concepts
Shining light
Sunrise “i” is modeled after the rays of sun spreading out across the sky. It also happens to resemble an LED light. The lightbulb is almost universally associated with innovation, and an LED represents technological progress.
Rooster imprint concept
I knew it was a bit of a long-shot, and one of my least developed ideas...But I had to throw the rooster mascot into the mix in the first round. Just for fun ;)
Sunrise mascot
My mascot concept was unfortunately not met with the enthusiasm I had hoped for. With a bit more refinement, I may have been able to sell him more effectively, but other concepts were clearly coming together much more quickly. But nothing is wasted in design - I will just have to hold onto him for another project. Where will he turn up? Guess you'll just have to check back often to find out :)
Retro logo concept
This was one of my favorite alternate concepts due to it's retro feel and potential for cool merch.
